What you need
- A short video clip, up to 30 seconds, with one clear main person
- One clear photo of the face you want swapped in
- About 5 minutes of waiting once you submit
The steps
- Pick a clip. Choose a video where the person you want to replace is easy to see and does not leave the frame. Steady shots work better than fast cuts.
- Trim it to 30 seconds or less. Your phone can do this in a few taps. See our guide on trimming a video on your phone.
- Tap the person to replace. You tap them in a frame from your clip, so you never have to describe who you mean.
- Add the new face. Use a clear, front-facing photo in good light. It can be you, a friend or a family member.
- Check out and wait. The swap takes a few minutes. You are only charged when your video is ready.
What makes a swap look good
- The person you replace is large enough in the frame to see their face
- The new photo shows a clear face with no sunglasses or hat
- The lighting in the photo is not wildly different from the clip
- The clip is short and steady
What to avoid
Clips from movies and TV shows with famous people are often blocked by the AI systems that do the work. Use your own videos, or clips you have the right to use.
Only use photos of people who agreed. See our guide on consent and rights before you share anything.
