Is it okay to put someone in a video? Consent, rights and good sense

How to use faces and clips the right way.

Use your own faces, or faces that said yes

Swap in yourself, or someone who has agreed. Do not use photos of people who have not said yes.

Use clips you have rights to

Your own videos are the safest choice. Clips from movies, TV or other people's videos may belong to someone else. Even when a tool allows a clip, that does not mean you have the right to share it.

Do not pass off a swap as real

A swap that is meant to make people believe a real person did or said something they did not is deception. We do not help with that, and neither should you. Do not make videos that imitate real public figures.

Label AI videos when it matters

If a swap could be mistaken for real footage, say it is AI-made. Many platforms ask for this.

Keep it kind

By ordering, you confirm that you have the right to use the clip and the photo. We may refuse or remove videos that break these rules.
