How to trim a video on your phone to 30 seconds

Trim any clip to 30 seconds in under a minute.

On an iPhone

  1. Open the video in Photos and tap Edit.
  2. Drag the yellow handles at the ends of the timeline to the part you want to keep.
  3. Tap Done, then Save Video as New Clip so your original stays safe.

On an Android phone

  1. Open the video in Google Photos and tap Edit.
  2. Drag the handles on the timeline to trim the start and end.
  3. Tap Save copy.

If your clip is a screen recording

Screen recordings often include a few seconds of the home screen at the start and end. Trim those off first. That also gets you under the limit faster.

Check the length

Play the trimmed clip and look at the time at the end. If it says 0:30 or less, you are ready.

Postin Scenes accepts clips up to 30 seconds. A 10 second clip costs less than a 30 second clip, so trimming also saves money.

Questions

Will trimming make my video lower quality?

No. Trimming only removes the parts you cut. It does not recompress what is left on a modern phone.

What if my clip is a few seconds over 30?

Trim a little more. The limit is checked on the actual video file.

Ready with a short clip?

You are only charged when your result is ready.
